The Kats volleyball team kicked off their 2024 season by traveling to Butler Community College for a pair of matches. In the first match, the home team Pioneers were too much for the Kats who lost 3-0. (25-8, 25-9 and 25-16).
In the second match, Erie would find a little more offense against Lakeland Community College but ultimately lost 3-1 (25-13, 25-20, 27-25 and 25-18).
Coach Craig Starzynski said of the Kats play, "We learned a lot about ourselves today. These were the first college matches for six of our starters. We didn't play as well as we hoped, but we made progress throughout the day and that's a positive for us."
Erie will take the next few weeks to regroup before traveling to Fulton-Montgomery Community college for another pair of matches on September 7th.
