Ladies Bowling Has Successful Weekend
The Erie Community College women's bowling team competed in the Tiger Cup and Brick City Classic bowling tournament last weekend ending with second and first place finishes respectively.
"The ladies had a unique test for these events as they did not strictly bowl on lanes with the other ladies teams, but also with the men's teams. This creates a totally different level of lane transition than they are used to experiencing, but they handled themselves well. Coming away with the championship on Sunday was an encouraging way to end the Fall portion of our schedule," said Head Coach Dave Zajac.
On Saturday, Megan Walker was the lead Erie bowler with a 164.75 average, finishing fifth. Maura Noonan led the team on Sunday, bowling 820 pins and finishing with at 164 average.
The team will now focus on getting prepared for the second half of the season and will start up again with the Greater Pittsburgh Collegiate Classic on January 11th.
