Ladies Make it Two in a Row
The Men's and women's basketball teams traveled to Finger Lakes Community on Thursday and came home with victories.
Behind a strong rebounding game, the women won their second game in a row defeating the Lakers 51-41. Freshman Alexandria Silverstor was a rebounding machine, knocking down 17 while also putting up eight points. Sophomore Mia Special led the team in points with 15 and six rebounds. Freshman Darion Jonathan put up 13 points and 8 rebounds and sophomore Mikathy Samuels had 12 rebounds and seven points.
The men would then take the court and build a nine point lead at the half enroute to the 84-64 win.
Leading the Kats in point was freshman Dray Akin with 16. Also in double digits was sophomores A'Mage Tate, Waseem Ajeigbe and Michael Duviella who had 15, 13 and 11 each respectively. Duviella also had the double-double with 10 rebounds. Erie is now 7-3 on the season.
Both teams are back in action on Saturday when they play at Orange County Community College.
