The Lady Kats opened up region play with a road split at Number 1 ranked Jefferson.
The bats were quiet for the Lady Kats in game one as Brianna Farnsworth registered the only hit. Anna Cervino would reach base twice drawing 2 walks. After two scoreless innings Jefferson would put up four runs in the third to take command of the game. Grace Szpylman got the start for the Kats striking out three.
In game two, the Lady Kats came to life winning the shortened contest 17-6.
Cheyenne Bernard was solid in the circle through four innings, striking out three. Grace Szpylman pitched a clean fifth ending any comeback hopes for the Cannoneers.
The Kats needed only four innings to plate 17 runs while pounding out 11 hits. Carly Fraser led the way going two for three with four RBI's. Emma Poitras would go two for four with three RBI's. Bella Raimondi would add two hits and two RBI's of her own while Cheyenne Bernard would add a hit and three RBI's. Other Kats adding to the hit parade were Anna Cervino, Olivia Ball, Kira Kilonski and Haley Wackhowski. Mikayla Gallivan chipped in with an RBI walk.
Up next for the Kats is a home game against SUNY Niagara on Tuesday April 8.
