In game one the Kats jumped out to a 5-2 lead heading into the sixt inning despite falling behind 2-0 in the first.
Monroe would tally five runs in the sixth and hang on for victory after the Kats had the tying runs on second and third in the bottom of the seventh.
It was a tough loss for the Kats who outhit Monroe 11-8 and stranded 11 runners on base.
The Kats were led by Cheyenne Barnard, Olivia Ball and Samantha Wing who all had three hits with Barnard adding 3 RBI's. Anna Cervino stayed hot adding two hits and an RBI.
Emma Rozborski was solid in the circle striking out 5.
In game two the Kats fell behind 4-0 but showed their resilience tying the game at four in the fifth. Monroe would again use the 6th to take the lead as they would score two unearned runs in the bottom of the 6th to go ahead 6-4. That score stood as the final and another tough loss for the Kats. For the Kats, Barnard had a solid start allowing three earned runs in her four innings of work with two strikeouts. Emma Rozborski would close out the fifth and 6th allowing two runs, none earned with two strikeouts.
Offensively for ECC, Olivia Ball and Bella Raimondi had two hits. Ann's Cervino would add a hit and an RBI. Natalie Witt and Emma Rozborski would also add hits.
Up next for the Kats, they host the number 4 ranked team in region 3 as Onondaga visits the North Campus.
