The Erie women's softball team dropped both games of their double header with Finger Lakes Community College on Saturday. Despite racking up ten hits and jumping out to an early lead, the Kats could not hold on in game one losing 8-7.
Game two was all Lakers who took the lead in the top of the first inning and never looked back in the 12-3 win.
"Game one was a heartbreaking loss. We let that one get away from us," said Head Coach Craig Leone. "We will learn from it and get better."
Leading the way for Erie was freshman Emma Poitras with three hits and three RBIs on the day. Samantha Heppel had 3 hits on the day including a triple. She struck out 15 batters in game one and had 19 K's on the day.
The ladies will take the field again on Tuesday when they face Corning Community College at 3:00 pm.
