Softball Takes Two from Onondaga to Complete Week Sweep

After taking two games from Broome CC on Saturday, Erie Community College softball completed the weekend sweep by winning both games against Onondaga Community College on a sunny Sunday afternoon at North Campus.
In game one, both teams scored two run in the first inning. The game would remain tied until both teams would again plate two runs each in the seventh inning. Onondaga would take the lead in the top of the eighth but Erie would then score one of their own to keep the game going. The top of the ninth saw the Lazers score three runs before the Kats put the game away in the bottom of the frame. Erie scored four run to take the game 9-8.
The offense was led by Alyssa Quagliana and Emily Belile who each had three hits. Amelia Potter pitched all nine innings while also going 2 for 5 at the plate with an RBI.
Marissa Stockmeyer took the mound in game two, pitching the Kats to a 4-2 victory. She allowed two runs on four hits while striking out 10. Quagliana once again led the Erie bats with three hits. Julia Kilonsky, Molly McGarvey and Stockmeyer each added two hits of their own.
Erie is now 16-10 on the season. The Kats will travel to Corning Community College on Tuesday for two games. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
