Cross Country Brings Home Awards from Regionals
SUNY Erie cross country competed at the NJCAA Region 3 Championship at Herkimer Community College. The Kats delivered impressive performances, highlighted by three All-Region honors and a 2nd place team finish.

Emma Palumbo led the way for Erie, securing a spot on the All-Region team with a 4th place finish and a season-best time. Teammates Tammy Marillo and Erik Blersch also posted personal bests.

"The women really set the tone for our great day," said Coach Chris Muldoon. "After dealing with injuries and illnesses the past few weeks, we're finally healthy, and it showed."

Ryan Weir and Samuel May placed 3rd and 4th respectively, earning All-Region honors. In a tight battle for the team title, Erie finished 2nd with 57 points, narrowly missing the championship by just one point to Onondaga (56 points), with Hudson Valley close behind at 60.

"We knew the team title would come down to a few points," said Coach Muldoon. "All nine guys ran really well, executing the race plan and leaving everything on the course. It stings to be one point away from a championship, but we're very proud of a true team effort."
The Kats now have two weeks to prepare for the NJCAA Championship in Richmond, VA.
