Hockey Opens Season with Loss to Canisius

The Erie men's hockey team opened their 2024-25 season with a 10-6 loss to Canisius University DII at Nichols Arena on Saturday.  

The Kats took a 5-4 lead into the third period but could not hold on as the Griffins exploded for six goals.

Leading scorer for Erie were freshman Alex Noel and Christian Leone who each netted two.  Freshman MacAllister Ward had two assists.

Erie will play two games this weekend. Saturday they will take on SUNY Niagara at Hyde Park at 7:00 pm. On Sunday they travel to St. Bonaventure for a 3:00 pm puck drop.
