Bowling Participates in Tiger Cup in Rochester
The Erie men's and womens bowling teams traveled to Rochester to participate in the Tiger Cup with the men winning the team event. In addition, sophomore Declan Stiles was the All-Around tournament leader.
The Kats bowled 6420 pins. Stiles bowled a206.3 average and 1238 pins.
On the ladies side, freshman Megan Walker led the team and finished in 5th place and was named to the All-Tournament team while freshman Haley Benkelman bowled a high team single game with a 194.
"The men's team got out to an early lead and never let up. They were able to ride the highs and pick each other up during the lows. Truly a good team win," said Coach David Zajac.
"The lady's got out to a rough start and gradually got better as the day went on," continued Zajac. "Unfortunately, the deficit from the earlier games was too much to overcome, but they never gave up no matter how tough the lanes got."
