The Erie men's and women's basketball teams traveled to New Rochelle to participate in the MLK Classic at Monroe University.
On Saturday the teams faced Monroe with the men falling 81-61 and the ladies were defeated 120-13.
Both teams faced Howard Community College on Sunday with similar results. The men lost 81-72 while the women fell 94-35.
Leaders for the men include Julienn Clements who had 17 points against Monroe and put up another 16 vs Howard. David Stroud had eight rebounds and five points against Monroe and added 18 points and 12 rebounds on Sunday while Eddie Beverly added 12 points and three rebounds on Saturday and followed up with 10 points and three rebounds against Howard.
On the women's side, Lillian Patterson put up 20 points and 15 rebounds over the weekend and Leah Fables had nine points and 10 rebounds.
Both teams will have the week to regroup and look to rebound when Erie hosts Jamestown Community College on Saturday, January 25th. The women tip-off at 1:00 with the men following at 3:00 pm.
