Basketball Wins Third in a Row
The Erie men's basketball team kept things rolling with their third win a row on Saturday. Following a clinic for over 70 Buffalo youth at the Flickinger Center, the team hosted Jamestown Community College and did not disappoint the loud and into it crowd as they defeated the Jayhawks 100-81.
The Kats would take the lead after the first minute of the game and never look back. Sophomore Ryan Kelly scored 18 points, going 6-10 from beyond the arc while fellow sophomore Michael Duviella also put up 18 points along with five rebounds. Erie had five total players in double digits with A'Mag Tate scoring 14 points with seven rebounds and three steals, Emeka Ceaser had 13 points and Khamani Montique added 10 points along with six steals and nine assists.
The Ladies were also in action against Jamestown, falling to the Jayhawks 79-48. One bright spot for the Kats was Leah Strong who scored the double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Mia Special was also in double digits with 17 points and five assists.
Erie will be on the road for a Valentine's Day match-up when they travel down the 90 to play Monroe Community College at 5:00 pm for the women and 7:00 pm for the men.
