Erie Falls to Lakeland Community College

The Erie men's basketball team returned from the winter break with a tall task at hand; hosting the NJCAA's 9th ranked Lakeland Community College. The Kats could not hold off the high powered Lakers and fell 83-80 in the Flickinger Center on Saturday afternoon.

The first half was a back and forth battle between the two teams before Lakeland went on a 10-0 run at the end of the half to take a 10 point lead into the locker room.  The Lakers continued to press to start the second half and grew their lead to 19 at one point before the Kats battled back to pull within 10 with under two minutes left.  Erie was able to get within a basket of tying the game by forcing a couple Lakeland turnovers but ultimately could not complete the comeback. 

Sophomore A'Mag Tate led the Kats in points with 19 points, four rebounds and five steals. Also in double digits for points were Emeka Ceaser with 17 and Waseem Ajeigbe added 16 points and a led in rebounds with eight.    

Erie will be at home again on Monday for a 6:00 pm match-up with Cuyahoga Community College.
