Erie Pulls Out Win Over MVCC

Buffalo, NY-  The Erie men's basketball team returned to the court from the winter break with a victory over Mohawk Valley Community College at the Burt Flickinger Center Monday night. 

The Kats defeated the Hawks 85-83.  Erie started the game strong and appeared to be control of the contest ending the first half up 42-33.

Erie increased its lead after William Tavares De Brito hit his first three attempts to start the second half. The Kats lead would be 17 at one point before the Hawks went on a 20 point unanswered run to 

to take their first lead of the game with just over three minutes to play.  The teams would exchange leads until Sage Idahosa would make a jumper with 30 seconds left to give Erie the win.  Idahosa led the Kats with 24 points and six rebounds.

Erie will play again on Thursday, January 13th when they travel to Jefferson Community College.
