Buffalo, NY- The Erie Community College men's basketball team hosted the number 5 ranked Lakeland Lakers on Saturday, losing 104-89.
While the Kats did have several players in double digits, they struggled to control the Laker's fast pace from the onset of the game. After trailing by as much as 17, Erie would battle to keep it close at the end of the half down by five, 52-47.
The second half was much of the same as any time the Kats tried to mount any pressure, the Lakers defense kept them from gaining any momentum.
Sophomore guard Kelvin Reeves led the Kats with 24 points while freshman Nathan Severson put up 17. Joshua Denis had 11 points and Justin Morety had 10 of his own.
The Kats will finish out the semester when they will play in the Thunderwolves Classic at Niagara County Community College. Erie faces Henry Ford College at 4:00 pm on Saturday and Schoolcraft College at 1:00 pm on Sunday.
