Buffalo, NY- The Erie Men's Basketball team is now ranked 4th in the lastest NJCAA Division II pole. The Kats defeated Genesee Community College over the weekend 89-81 to jump up three spots from last week.
Tavien Kemp scored 24 of his 29 points in the first half including going six of nine from beyond the arc. Ladji Fofana led the Kats in the second half scoring 19 points to finish with 20 total and added 11 rebounds for the double-double. Ahamadou Fofana was also in double digits with 17 points.
This improved the Kats win streak to eight in a row. They are 20-3 on the season.
Erie will host Mercyhurst North East on Wednesday at 7:30 pm at the Flickinger Center. They will close out the regular season on Saturday when they travel to Niagara County Community College for a 3:00 pm matchup.
