Kats Defeat Buffalo Rival Bryant Stratton 79-74.
Buffalo, NY- It was a battle of nationally ranked teams as Erie Comunity College, ranked 11th in the latest NJCAA Division II rankings, and Bryant and Stratton College Buffalo, ranked 4th in the latest USCAA Division I National Poll, faced off at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center Tuesday night.
The Kats defeated Bryant and Stratton 79-74 in a tight back and forth contest.
The Bobcats came out strong and controlled the play at the start of the game as Erie didn't net their first basket until almost the three minute mark. After Head Coach Alex Nwora called a time out to regroup the Kats slowley worked their way into the game ending the first half with a 39-35 lead.
It was a reversal in the second half as Erie came out strong and built a 16 point lead before BSC turned their game around and got to within three points. After exchanging baskets in the final ten seconds, Erie grabbed a defensive rebound to end the game.
Leading the offense for the Kats was Ahamadou Fofana with 20 points followed by Tevian Kemp who had 17.
The Kats end for the semester break with a 9-2 record. They will return to action January 11, 2020 when they host Wesmoreland County Community College at the Flickinger Center.
