Kats Pull Out Victory over Brockport JV
Erie Community College football traveled to Brockport on Monday afternoon defeating the Golden Eagles 20-19. Sophomore quarterback Eric Wilson and running back Jayden Lewis combined to orchestrate a late fourth quarter drive to give the Kats the win.
After a scoreless first quarter, the teams exchanged touchdowns in the second quarter. The Kats got on the board first when Wilson hit Raheim Mclver for a 36 yard score. Brockport would answer back before the end of the quarter and then go ahead by the end of the third quarter.
Erie's second touchdown of the game was another strike from Wilson. This time the quarterback connected with Joseph Butler, Jr. for a 56 yard strike. Brockport would answer back again to regain the lead. The Kats got the ball back with just over eight minutes to play. They would go 72 yards and use up seven minutes of clock time for the winning drive. The game was capped off when freshman Jamal Drummond picked off Brockport to seal the win.
Butler was Wilson's favorite target for the game. The receiver had nine catches for 104 yards. Lewis ran for 93 yards and Wilson finished with 195 yards passing. The defense had three total interceptions on the day. Shamar Adams was the leading tackler with 14 including a sack.
Erie is at home on Saturday when they host Husdon Valley Community College at Williamsville South High School. Kick-off is set for 2:00 pm.
