Erie Football Gets in the Win Column
This week it was the running game that led the Erie Community College football team to earn its first victory of the season. Coming off last weekend's overtime loss, the Kats defeated Thaddeus Stevens Tech 21-16 on Saturday to go 1-1 to start the season.
It was freshman running back Jayden Lewis who led the team with 135 rushing yards on 19 attempts while finding the endzone twice. Che'Von Allen was the lone Kat receiver to tally a score.
On the defensive side of the ball, freshman Delshon Taylor led the team with 11 tackles while sophomore Shamar Adams had another strong game with ten tackles.
Erie will play its first home game of the season on Sunday, September 15th when they host Buffalo State JV. Kick-off is set for 12:00 pm at Williamsville South High School.
