Three Kats Named to All America Football Team
The National Junior College Athletic Association announced its 2023 All-American football teams with three Kats being recognized for their accomplishments.
Jason Guam, a freshman from Buffalo, NY was named to the First Team Defense. The 6-foot-2 defensive lineman averaged 5.4 sacks per game and had seven sacks on the season.
Named to the Second Team Offense were sophomores Jaylin Weathers and Trent Johnson. Weathers, a 6-0 wide receiver from Pensacola, FL, had 56 receptions for 520 yards on the season. He averaged 9.3 yards per catch and found the endzone three times. Johnson hails from Niles, OH and played in his first season with the Kats. He recorded 43 receptions for 601 yards and four touchdowns.
Erie finished the season 3-7 under second year head coach Mike Kemp.
