Football Falls to Hudson Valley 20-14.
Troy, NY- Erie Community College football dropped their second game of the season to Hudson Valley Community College 20-14.
Following a scoreless first quarter, Erie jumped on the board at 12:19 in the second quarter. Spencer Loftus tossed the ball 36 yards into the end zone for the score.
Hudson Valley tied the game up at seven all after capitalzing on an interception and a successful extra point.
Erie returned the favor to start the second half with an interception of their own and returned the ball 45 yards to take back the lead, 14-7, with the extra point.
Hudson took control, marching down the field for a quick touchdown. A missed extra point attempt still had Erie up 14-13.
With 8:45 remaining in the game, Hudson marched down the field, eating up the clock before punching it in for the score. The extra point put them ahead 20-14.
The Vikings defense held on for the final six minutes of the game giving them the victory.
The Kats stand at 0-2 on the season and will stay on the road as they travel to Alfred University on Sunday, September 22nd for a 1:00 pm matchup.
