Bio

Joz enters his second season as an assistant coach and the Recruiting Coordinator for Erie. Prior to joining the Kats, he was the Assistant Head Coach at the former NCAA DIII Medaille University where he ran the offense for the Mavericks. 

Joz wears many hats for the Kats baseball program including a focus on recruiting the next generation of Kats baseball players while also working with our current hitters and catchers. Joz is also responsible for running the Kats Baseball social media accounts, has helped set up our in-game live streams, and works with the teams new-ages technology including Rapsodo, Video Analysis, out PitchCom system, and also works with our current players on helping them in the outgoing recruiting process through social media and FieldLevel.

Prior to his time with the Kats and Mavericks, the Lancaster NY native spent 11 years as the Assistant Coach and Assistant Program Director for his alma mater Lancaster High School, helping lead the Legends to five Section VI Class AA championships and seven ECIC Division 1 titles. 

Joz played his high school baseball at Lancaster as well, before going to college at SUNY Fredonia, where a back injury would end his collegiate playing career. Since then, Joz has played in both AA and AAA MUNY in WNY, winning multiple championships as a Player/Manager of Team New Era, and player for Erie-Buffalo. He most recently coached the Buffalo Stingers to a AAA MUNTY Buffalo Regional Championship, clinching a trip to the NABF World Series in 2023. 

Joz also works as a player development coach locally and is a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
