Coach LG comes into his first season with the Kats, focusing on working with the hitters for Kats Nation. He is helping them with their swing mechanics, approach, and all around offensive mindset this season. LG graduated from Lancaster High School where he was a 4 year varsity starter at Short Stop and in the Outfield, helping the Legends to 2 Section VI titles in 3 appearances, 4 back to back ECIC 1 division titles, was a multi-time ECIC 1 and Section VI first team all start, NYS All Star, was one of the top players in NYS in 2017 and was a Max Preps 2^nd team All American. Castillo was drafted in 2017 by the Milwaukee Brewers out of High School where he would play Rookie ball in 2017, make it to the Helena Brewers in 2018, and play for the Wisconsin TimberRattlers (Single A- Full) and Carolina MudCats (Single A- Advanced) through the rest of tenure with the Brewers organization. After falling victim to the pandemic restructuring of the minors, LG has made a stint with both the Gary SouthShore Railcats of the American Association and Washington WildThings of the Frontier League in 2022, before spending 2023 to Present as a member of the RailCats. He will be with the Kats through most of the spring before returning to Gary, IN in pursuit of his big league dreams.
