Kats Rebound with Sweep of Jamestown

Adam Scibetta collected three hits in three at bats, as Erie defeated Jamestown 3-2 on Tuesday in game one of their doubleheader. Scibetta tripled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the seventh inning.

Adam Staniszewski earned the win for the Kats. The hurler surrendered six hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out one and walking two.  Erie collected 10 hits in the game. Calder drove the middle of the lineup, leading the team with two runs batted in.  Ethan Perry collected two hits in three at bats. Scibetta stole two bases.  Erie turned two double plays in the game.

The Kats kept the momentum and beat Jamestown 4-2 in the second game.  Erie was the first to get on the board in the fourth when EJ Williams singled, scoring one run.

Jaden Korpan earned the win. The pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Aaron Knuutila started on the mound. The hurler gave up one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking five. 

John Callahan went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. James Buettner led Erie with two hits in three at bats. Tyler Pagano stole two bases as the Kats.

Next up for Erie is a pair of games against Monroe CC on Friday.
