Erie CC Kats could not keep pace with Finger Lakes on Saturday, dropping both doubleheader games.
A home run to right field put Finger Lakes on the board in the bottom of the first en route to a 5-1 victory in the first game.
Adam Staniszewski took the loss for Erie. The starting pitcher went five innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on nine hits, striking out two, and walking none. James Buettner led the team with one run batted in, while Konner Hauck led with two hits in four at bats from the leadoff position.
Despite outhitting the Lakers six to four, Erie fell in game two 6-2. Buettner, Adam Scibetta, John Callahan, Zach Colon, Josh Bluain, and EJ Williams each collected one hit
Jaden Korpan pitched five innings in relief for the Kats. The reliever surrendered one hit and zero runs while striking out three and walking three. Aaron Knuutila took the loss. The starting pitcher went one inning, surrendering six runs on three hits, striking out two, and walking four.
After being rained out on Sunday, Erie will take the field on Thursday, March 27th, when they travel to Corning for a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m.
