Adam Scibetta collected four hits in five at bats as Erie defeated Schoolcraft Community College 17-14 on Thursday. Scibetta hit an inside the park homerun in the sixth inning, after singling in the first, second and fourth innings.
Both teams had hot bats as the Kats collected 19 hits and Schoolcraft tallied 15 in the high scoring game.
Erie looked to be in control of the game, taking an 11-6 lead in the top of the sixth inning but Schoolcraft would tun the game around in the bottom of the frame, scoring six runs to take a lead of their own. The Kats would fight their way back in the top of the seventh, scoring six runs on five hits to take the lead back.
Ethan Mcilwaine earned the win for Erie. The reliever surrnedered six hits and sevdn runs over two innings, striking out three and walking three. Nick gold led things off for the Kats allowing six hits and four runs over three innings,, striking out two. Ethan Goodband appeared in relief for Erie.
