The Erie Community College baseball team closed out the regular season with a double header split with SUNY Niagara.
Game one came down to extra innings with Erie grabbing the win in walk-off fashion, 8-7. With the game knotted at 7 in the bottom of the 10th inning, Ronan Glassford singled to score the winning run.
The two teams combined for 24 hits in the game with Glassford leading the Kats with three hits and two stolen bases. Grayson Giddings had three RBI's in the win. Tyler Noel pitched six innings in relief for Erie. He gave up six hits and three runs while striking out one after starting pitcher Ethan Mcilwaine went four innings.
The Kats could not carry the momentum into the second game, dropping the contest 6-0. Ladislaus Landwehr stepped on the mound to start the game and went three innings, striking out two before Aaron Knuutila came in in relief. He pitched four innings surrendering two hits and one run while striking out two and walking one.
Erie will begin post season play this coming weekend.
