Erie Community College and Genesee Community College played a double header at North Campus in Sunday with the teams each winning one game.
Erie jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning of the first game after Jayden Ricks drew a walk to score one run and Ronan Glassford scored two when hitting into a fielders choice. the Kats would add to their lead with a five hit fifth inning and take the game with a final score of 15-5. Erie amassed nine hits in the game with Austin Deitz leading with three runs batted in, going two for three in the game.
Tyler Noel earned the win for the Kats. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and five runs over four innings, striking out four and walking three.
Game two was another high-scoring affair with Genesee taking this one 15-10.
Erie would again have nine hits hits with Grayson Giddings leading the way with three. Nathan Kinder had three runs batted in and Shane Pray collected two hits for the offense. Starting on the mound was Adam Staniszewski who surrendered five hits and five runs over one an two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking two.
Erie will welcome Finger Lakes Community College on Tuesday for two games.
