On Tuesday, the Kats played host to Jamestown Community College for a doubleheader, winning both games.
Both teams were strong on the mound in game one but Erie came out with the 2-0 victory. Ethan Mcilwaine was the starter for the Kats and recorded 15 outs while striking out three and walking five. Ryan Lynch pitched two innings of no-run ball in relief.
The Kats opened the scoring in the fourth inning after Nathan Kinder singled to score a run. Erie scored again the bottom of the sixth off a solo home run to right field by Austin Dietz.
Isaac Duva collected three hits in three at bats as Erie also took game two, winning 9-3. After the Jayhawks took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, Erie would chip away before taking the lead in the bottom of the third on a Duva single. The Kats would score five runs in the fourth to secure the victory. Austin Deitz drew a walk, scoring one run, Colby Wilson singled to score two, Garrett Wilson hit into a fielder's choice but one run scored and Duva singled to score one.
Tyler Noel stepped on the mound to start for Erie. The pitcher allowed six hits and three runs over six innings. He struck out five and walked one.
Erie improves to 23-10 on the season and play at home again on Thursday against Broome.
