The Erie Community College baseball team won all for of their games this weekend, outscoring their opponents 43-5 over the span.
On Saturday that Kats were at Finger Lakes Community College where they defeated the Lakers 5-1 and 6-4.
In the first games, Erie collected 10 ten hits with Jalen Ballard seizing his opportunities, leading the Kats with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. Austin Deitz, Vincent Grazioplene and Shane Pray each collected two hits for the Erie. Ryan Lynch earned the win, surrendering four hits and zero runs over four and two-thirds innings, with two strikeouts and no walks. Aaron Cabrera started on the hill. The pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over six and one third innings, striking out six and waling three.
The Kats trailed by as many as four runs in game two before rallying to earn the victory. Ronan Glassford led Erie with two runs batted in, going 2-for-2. Adam Staniszewski earned the win, surrendering six hits and four runs (three earned) over seven innings. He struck out six and walked two.
On Sunday the Kats would travel to Corning where the bats really came alive.
Erie took game one 12-0 thanks in part to seven runs in the first inning. The Kats would score at least one run in each of the next four inning to secure the win. Tyler Noel started on the mound giving up two hits and zero runs over five innings. He struck out two and walked none.
Ethan Mcilwaine earned a no hitter in the second game of the afternoon with the Kats winning 20-0 The starter went five innings giving up zero hits while striking out five and walking none. Nathan Kinder drove in five runs on three hits while lead-off hitter Issac Duva led the Kats with four hits in four at bats. Erie amassed 16 total hits in the game and also collected nine walks.
The Kats are now 16-9 on the season and will play at Tompkins Cortland Community College on Tuesday for a double header.
