The Erie baseball team is on the road this weekend with their first stop in Baltimore. The Kats took both games from the Catonsville Cardinals on Friday night.
In game one, Erie got on the board first enroute to a 8-1 victory. Aaron Cabrera started the game for Erie. The starter allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out four and walking one. Grayson Giddings led Erie with two hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Shane Pray and Garett Wilson each drove in two runs for the Kats.
Game two was more of the same with the Kats winning 4-2. After putting up a run in the top of the first, Erie let Catonsville take the lead 2-1 in the bottom of the frame. The Kats woupd take the lead back in the top of the fourth when Malik Kemp singles and Giddings hit a sac fly.
Starting on the mound for Erie, Mike Birkhimer allowed five hits and two runs over four and one-third innings, striking otu two and walkng four. Tyler Noel came in for relief, pitching two and two-thirds inning of scoreless baseball.
