The Erie Community College baseball season came to end Saturday afternoon after a valiant comeback effort against the number one ranked the Herkimer Generals. After falling down by six runs in the sixth inning the Kats scored five runs in the final three innings to make it 9-8 but could not complete the comeback effort.
The Kats scored four runs in the seventh inning with Andrew Nantau, Christian Cabrera, Colby Wilson, and Nantau coming through with RBIs to lead the rally. Ethan Stevens took the loss for Erie. The bulldog surrendered five runs on five hits over one-third innings, striking out two and walking one.
Erie racked up ten hits on the day. Cabrera and Wilson each had multiple hits. Wilson and Cabrera all had three hits to lead the Kats.
On Friday, Erie defeated Hudson Valley Community College 10-0. Dylan Moorhouse earned the victory on the hill for the Kats. The hurler lasted five innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out three and walking zero. Erie secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the second inning. Ladislaus Landwehr, Grayson Giddings, Nantau, Cabrera, Colby Wilson, and Christain Pagano each had RBIs in the frame.
Erie finished the regular season with a 31-18 record including finishing with a 12 game win streak.
