The Erie bats were swinging Friday night as the team won both games of their double header at Tompkins Coortland Community College. Game one saw the Kats taek an early enroute to the 10-6 victory.
Erie opened up scoring in the second inning and then put up four more in the fourth to take the lead for good. Ryan Moran was the winning pitcher for Erie. The hurler allowed five hits and three runs over four innings, striking out five. Jackson Smith, Tyson Kovats, and Dylan Moorhouse all put in work in relief out of the bullpen. Carter Whitehead led Erie CC Kats Varsity with two hits in three at bats.
Game two started with both teams putting up run in the first inning and TCC taking an early lead. The Kts nabbed the lead in the fourth inning and held on for a 7-4 victory. In the top of the fourth inning, the Kats tied things up at three when Jake Tsymbal singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Sam Calcaterra got the win. The fireballer lasted five innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out six and walking zero. Nolan Evans threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Evans recorded the last six outs to earn the save.
