Kats Split Double Header with Genesee CC

The Erie Community College baseball team returned to their home field at North Campus with a double header split against Genesee Community College.

The Kats fell to the Cougars in game one, losing 7-4.  Ryan Moran was on the hill for Erie. The pitcher lasted four and a third innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out one and walking one. Brendon Hering and Sam Calcaterra entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.  Grayson Giddings, Nathan Kinder, Carter Whitehead, Colby Wilson, Signorelli, and Christian Cabrera each collected one hit in the game. 

Erie would rebound to get in the win in game two.  The Kats nabbed the lead late to earn a  9-8 victory.  The game was tied at seven with Erie batting in the bottom of the fifth when Andrew Nantau singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run to go ahead. Erie racked up seven hits in the game. Nantau and Whitehead each collected two hits to lead the offense. Whitehead led the team in RBI's with four. 

Spencer Harford led things off on the mound for the Kats. Harford went four innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out three.

The Kats are home again on Thursday to face Corning Community College for a double header. First game is at 2:00 pm.
