The Erie Community College baseball team dropped both games of their double header again Genesee Communty College on Sunday. Despite having leads in both games, the Kats could not hold on in either to secure a victory.
In game one, the Kats lost the lead late in a 14-10 defeat. The game was tied at ten with Genesee batting in the bottom of the sixth when they hit a solo homer.
In the second inning, Erie got their offense started when Christain Pagano homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs. The Kats racked up nine hits in the game. Pagano and Andrew Nantau both managed multiple hits. Dylan Moorhouse was on the hill for Erie. The pitcher surrendered nine runs on 12 hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking one. Jackson Smith and Ryan Lynch entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and one-third of an inning respectively.
Game two was much of the same when the Kats got off to an early lead and then lost it late in a 7-5 defeat. The game was tied at five with Genesee batting in the bottom of the sixth when they took the lead on a triple.
Connor Desiderio was on the mound for the Kats. The pitcher went six innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits, striking out three and walking zero.
Evans led Erie with two hits in four at bats.
Erie will be back on the field again when they host the same Genesee team at North Campus on Tuesday for a double heard. Game one begins at 2:00 pm.
