Baseball Extends Win Streak to 10

Erie baseball continued its winning ways on Thursday, winning two more games. The Kats defeated Onondaga Community College 7-4 and 5-4 to push their win streak to ten games.

Game one was scoreless going into the fifth inning when Erie finally broke through with seven runs.  Despite a push from Onondaga in the top of the seventh, Erie held on for the victory.   Christian Cabrera, Isaiah Salas, and Adam Rankie all managed multiple hits with Rankie, Salas, and Cabrera collecting two hits each.  

Dylan Moorhouse got the win for the Kats. The hurler surrendered four runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking one.

A walk-off single propelled Erie to a dramatic victory in game two. Onondaga took an early lead and held it until the Kats knotted the game up in the bottom of the sixth inning. Big bats in the inning were led by a home run by Greg Hare and a double by Harold Torres.

The game was tied at four with Erie batting in the bottom of the seventh when AJ Karosas singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Sam Calcaterra started the game for Erie, going five innings, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out four. Tyler Kerl got the win. Kerl allowed two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking zero.

The Kats will look to add to the win streak when they travel to SUNY Broome for a pair of games on Saturday.  First pitch is at 1:00 pm.
