Sophomore Isaiah Salas led the Erie offense to a pair of wins against Jamestown Community College on Tuesday. Salas knocked in ten runs over the two games that were moved to Erie's North Campus.
In the 20-10 game one win, Salas drove in runs on a double in the first, a single in the second, a walk in the third, and a single in the fourth.
Erie racked up 20 hits in the game. Andrew Nantau, Salas, Greg Hare, Adam Rankie, Christian Cabrera, Mason Wright, and AJ Karosas each racked up multiple hits for the Kats. Rankie, Hare, Salas, and Nantau each collected three hits.
Connor Desiderio pitched Erie to victory. Desiderio's win was the 16th of his career, breaking the previous college record of 15. The ace surrendered ten runs on nine hits over four and a third innings, striking out six and walking one. Elliot Berger and Tyler Oudette entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
The Kats took game two 12-5 with Salas adding four more RBIs went he went yard in the sixth inning. Ethan Stevens was credited with the victory on the mound. The ace surrendered five runs on six hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out nine. Dylan Moorhouse threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
The double victory gives Erie an eight game win streak that they will take into a pair of games against Onondaga on Thursday afternoon.
