The Erie men's baseball team went 4-0 over the weekend after completing the doubleheader sweep of Onondaga on Sunday.
A five-run sixth inning led the Kats to an 8-2 victory in game one. Erie's big bats were led by Greg Hare, Carter Whitehead, and Harold Torres, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Spencer Harford pitched Erie to victory. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out seven.
After Onondaga opened the scoring in the first inning of game two, the Erie bats lit up again. This time the Kats knocked in nine runs in the second on its way to an 11-1 victory. The offensive onslaught came from doubles by Isaiah Salas, AJ Karosas, and Tyler Kerl and walks by Adam Rankie and Hare. Ryan Moran earned the victory on the hill for Erie. Moran went five innings, allowing one run on four hits and walking zero.
The Kats are now 27-10-1 on the season. The team will travel to Jamestown Community College on Tuesday for a pair of games with the Jayhawks.
