Erie Community College baseball swept both games of their doubleheader with Jamestown Community College.
A nine-run first inning led Erie to a 12-2 victory in game one. The offensive onslaught was led by Carter Whitehead, Tyler Kerl, Andrew Nantau, and Christian Cabrera, all driving in runs in the frame.
Connor Desiderio pitched Erie to victory. The bulldog surrendered zero runs on one hit over four innings, striking out one and walking zero. Garrett Thornton threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
The Kats racked up nine hits. Kerl and Cabrera each managed two hits to lead Erie.
The Kats kept the momentum going in game two driving in 18 runs in the first inning enroute to a 27-2 victory. Liam McMurray led the offense with five RBIs. McMurray drove in runs on a walk in the first and a grand slam in the first.
Sam Calcaterra earned the win. He allowed three hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Jake Monaco and Dylan Wojciechowski entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
The Kats did not commit a single error in the field during either game.
Erie will travel to Onondaga Community College on Sunday for a pair of games.
