Baseball Finishes Florida Trip with Win

Erie Community College finished their spring trip to Florida with a 5-4 victory over Glen Oaks Community College on Friday. The game was tied at four with the Kats batting in the bottom of the sixth when Adam Rankie doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Garrett Thornton led the team to victory on the mound. The pitcher lasted one and one-third innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while walking zero.  Liam McMurray and Ethan Stevens entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.  Stevens recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Erie.  Rankie led the Kats with three hits in four at bats.

The team will travel to Baltimore for a weekend of games beginning Friday, March 18th.
