Hare Collects Four Hits in Baseball Win
Greg Hare had the hot hand on Tuesday, tallying four hits and leading the Kats to a 19-13 victory over Ridgewater Community College. Hare doubled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the third, and doubled in the sixth.
The Kats opened up scoring in the first inning, when Hare doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. They would add another in the first, score four in the second and put up Erie CC Kats Varsity saw the ball well today, racking up 17 hits in the game. Hare, Harold Torres, Cabrera, Salas, and Karosas all had multiple hits for Erie CC Kats Varsity. Hare went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Erie CC Kats Varsity in
hits.
Erie pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. Adam Rankie singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Carter Whiteheaddoubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, and Hare's sac fly scored one run.
Liam McMurray took the win for Erie. McMurray surrendered one run on three hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Dylan Moorhouse, Spencer Harford, and Ethan Krakowski all put in work in relief out of the bullpen.
The Kats racking up 17 hits in the game. Hare, Harold Torres, Cabrera, Salas, and Karosas all had multiple hits.
Erie will take on Itasca Community College in a double header on Wednesday.
