Erie Community College Celebrates 2024–25 Student-Athletes at Annual Awards Reception
SUNY Erie Community College honored the achievements of its 2024–25 student-athletes during a celebratory reception on Wednesday evening. The event recognized outstanding athletic performance, academic excellence, and leadership across the college’s athletic programs.
The evening’s top honors included the announcement of the Lawrence C. Spring Male and Female Athletes of the Year:
Male Athlete of the Year: Shamar Adams
Female Athlete of the Year: Delia Lake
Individual Awards
Helen R. Cornell Award: Presented to the senior athlete with the highest academic average through their first three terms- Delia Lake
Grace M. Galanti Athletic Achievement Award: Awarded to a female student-athlete who exemplifies Erie athletics through competitiveness, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm- Anna Cervino
Ralph J. Galanti, Sr. Athletic Scholarship Award: Presented to the athlete who best demonstrates good sportsmanship, leadership, and dedication to the Erie athletic program- Eddie Beverly

Men’s Soccer MVP: Aiden Samms
Hockey MVP: MacAllister Ward
Cross Country Men’s MVP: Ryan Weir
Women’s MVP: Emma Palumbo
Football Offensive Player of the Year: Eric Wilson

Volleyball: Delia Lake
Erie's baseball and softball teams are heading to the post season this weekend and will announce their MVPs after the season is complete. The men will face Hudson Valley in their best of three series while the ladies will face Monroe Community College. Both series are set to begin Saturday.
