Volleyball Falls in First Round of Region 3 Championships
The Erie Women's Volleyball team's season came to an end on Saturday when they fell to Broome Community College in the Region 3 volleyball championship semi-finals (26-24, 25-15 and 25-18).
The Kats volleyball team returned to the regionals with an outstanding season that saw them finish with a record of 18-4 and a WNYAC Tournament Championship!
Three Erie players were named to the All Region Team. Earning first team honors were sophomore Molly McKinnon and freshman Emily Schlabach. Freshman Charlotte Mendel earned second team honors.
McKinnon was a leader for Coach Craig Starzynski all season long and he has been impressed with his freshman players as well. "It didn't end the way we wanted, but our athletes fought hard. Our sophomores were leaders and our freshmen blew away our expectations this season. We couldn't have gotten this far without our assistant coach Bailey (Gawley).
