The Kats went 2-1 in pod play when they defeated Monroe Community College (25-19, 25-21 and 25-17) and Finger Lakes Community College (25-12, 18-25, 15-25, 25-20 and 15-13) before dropping a match to Genesee Community College (22-25 23-25 and 22-25) in POD play at Jamestown Community College on Saturday.
"Today was a real positive step towards making the playoffs," said Coach Craig Starzynski. "Delphine Brodowski played the best she has ever played and Emily Pijacki (76 assists on the day )was the MVP for us all day," he continued.
Starzysnki added, "We gave Finger Lakes their first region loss of the year by playing lights out defense and getting huge kills when we needed them. We are definitely gaining some momentum as we get into the heart of our schedule."
Erie will be back on the court on Saturday, October 1st when they head to Niagara County Community College for POD play.
