Volleyball Wins Home Opener
Buffalo, NY- Erie women's volleyball won in straight sets in their home opener Thursday night, defeating Genessee Community College 3-0. The Kats came out strong in the first set and never looked back defeating the Cougars in three straight sets, 25-17, 25-13 and 25-22.
Strong, agressive play at the net from middle blockers Auroa Davis and Madison Beuchat helped lead the Kats to the sweep. Leah Hapeman finished the night with nine kills, 13 digs and two aces. Natalie Ruhlmann recorded 18 digs while Briana Lelonek had 12 digs and three aces.
"Freshman Sara Domanowski set really well tonight, making great decisions all night long." said Head Coach Craig Starzynski. "Natalie Ruhlmann played teriffic in the back row as well."
Erie will play their next match at the Burt Flickinger Center on Saturday, September 11th when they host Tompkins Cortland Community College at 12:00pm.
