Erie Swim Team Wins 11 Events in Split with Genesee
The Erie Community College swimming and diving teams won 11 of the 12 events they competed in and earned a split with Genesee Community College Monday evening. The Erie men won 52-43 and the Genesee women won 98-72.
Freshman Annemarie Aber and sophomore Elizabeth Richardson were both double-winners on the night for the Kats, Aber won the 100-Yard Freestyle (1:04.41) and the 50-Yard Butterfly (31.39) and Richardson finished first in the 100-Yard Individual Medley (1:15.89) and the 50-Yard Backstroke (34.49).
The other winners for the Erie women were freshman Anna Rickard in the 500-Yard Freestyle (7:02.89) and freshman Kelsey Christophersen in the 50-Yard Freestyle (30.92).
Freshman Mason Rose got the Erie men started with a first place finish in the 50-Yard Freestyle (25.93). Tyler Landon won the 100-Yard Individual Medley (1:07.59) and Mike Baker came on top in the 50-Yard Backstroke (30.92).
The Kats will return to action Monday, March 15 when they host Jamestown Community College at 5 p.m.
