Sophomore Garrett Wilson's big bat helped Erie baseball win both games against Onondaga Community College on Saturday. Wilson collected five hits and four RBI's between the two games including a two run shot in the 12-11 game one victory.
After going back and forth early in the game, Erie built a six run lead in the fourth inning and then held off an Onondaga's charge to earn the win. Ryan Lynch was the winning pitcher for the Kats. The starter gave up five hits and seven runs over five innings while striking out three.
Game two was similar script with Erie once again falling behind early and then rallying for the 7-4 victory. Onondaga took the early lead on a solo home run in the first inning and added another run in the second. Erie jumped into the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Colby Wilson doubled, Jayden Hicks homered and Grayson Giddings singled. Starting on the mound was Ladislaus Landwehr. He surrendered seven hits and four runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Aaron Knuutila collected the save for the Kats.
Both teams will play again on Sunday when Erie travels to Onondaga for a doubleheader.
