Finger Lakes Community College
Erie Community College hosted Finger Lakes Community College on Tuesday for two games at North Campus. The teams split the double header with the Kats taking the first game 5-1 and the Lakers winning game two 9-8.
The Kats got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning of game one after Austin Deitz drew a walk to score a run and Nathan Kinder doubled to score two runs. Ronan Glassford hit a solo home run to right in the bottom of the second and led Erie with two hits in two at bats. Aaron Cabrera stopped on the hill to start for the Kats. The pitcher allowed five hits and one run over six innings, striking out six and walking two. Ryan Lynch threw one inning of shut out ball in relief.
Both teams put up tons of hits and runs in game two. Despite taking an early lead, Erie fell behind by five runs in the fourth inning. The Kats tried to fight back, but could not complete the comeback. Erie collected a total of 13 hits with Grayson Giddings leading the way, going three for five, including a solo homerun in the bottom of the fourth. Adam Staniszewski started the game allowing seven hits and six runs over three innings. He struck out one and walked one.
Erie will be on the field again on Thursday when they travel to Genesee Community College.
